Plus: 🔌 Tesla Referral Program, 💣 Twitter Traffic Plummets, Threads Booms

đź’Ą Annoying Twitter Dropshipping Ads Finally Vanish

If you use Twitter, you’ve probably seen those annoying ads for random stuff like dog beds, earbuds, and knives.

They always look the same: a verified account, a flashy video, and a link to a sketchy website like Zotu, Dulo, or Loza.

And no matter how many times you block them, they kept coming back.

Well, guess what? They’re gone. Alphaville found out that Twitter suspended all those ad accounts. They were all linked to a shady dropshipping agent called Poxdo, based in Singapore.

Not only the directors couldn’t be contacted, the address also didn’t exist.

So if you're diving into the world of dropshipping, it might be a smart move to do a little background check on your agent.

🔌 Tesla Reintroduces Referral Program to Drive Sales as EV Market Become More Competitive

Tesla has a new plan to sell more cars: get its customers to do the selling for it.

Tesla has launched a new program called “Refer and Earn” in many countries, including the U.S., China, Germany, and Canada.

The idea is simple: if you buy a Tesla and use a referral code from an existing owner, you get some perks. Depending on where you are, you could get cashback, discounts, or free features.

Tesla used to have a referral program before, but it stopped it because it was too costly. Now it’s bringing it back to boost sales.

The EV sales market globally has become more competitive, forcing automakers to cut prices or boost incentives in several markets.

đź’Ł Twitter's Traffic Takes a Hit with Threads App's Massive User Base

Twitter is in trouble.

Its new rival, Threads, has just hit 100 million users in just over two days. That’s a lot of people who are not tweeting anymore.

According to Matthew Prince, CEO of Cloudflare, Twitter has been grappling with a noticeable decline in traffic since the beginning of 2023.

Now, with the launch of the Threads app, Twitter’s traffic seems to have taken another huge hit.

Cloudflare’s data reveals that Twitter has now slipped to the 37th position in domain ranking. A significant drop from its more favorable 32nd position at the start of the year.

The decline in Twitter’s popularity can be partly attributed to the controversial changes implemented by its new owner, Elon Musk, following his acquisition of the platform for a staggering $44 billion in 2022.
