🎥 When Apple says 'Shot on iPhone'...

Plus: 🚀 Google Launch New '.ing' Domain, 💰 Chatbot Creator Economy

🎥 Here's What Apple Really Means When It Says 'Shot on iPhone'

Apple’s ‘Scary Fast’ event was ‘shot on iPhone’, but it wasn’t as simple as it sounds.

The behind-the-scenes footage reveals the filming involved a suite of professional recording equipment and studio lighting, including drones, gimbals, dollies, and industrial set lighting.

While it’s a cool way to show off the iPhone camera, but unless you’ve got a garage full of fancy gear, your home videos might not look quite as polished.

So, when Apple says ‘shot on iPhone’, remember it’s not just the phone, it’s a whole Hollywood production!

🌐 Google Is Officially Trying to Make .ing Domains a Th.ing

Google Registry is launching a new and really fun top-level domain: .ing.

You can now register .ing domains as part of an early access program.

An additional one-time fee is required during the early access period, which decreases daily until December 5th when .ing domains become publicly available.

Some common words with -ing endings are really expensive; think.ing and buy.ing cost $38,999.99 and $129,999.99, respectively, per year to register, but affordable options are also available.

Google Registry is also developing a .meme top-level domain, currently in a limited registration period.

Early access to .meme begins on November 28th, with public registration starting on December 5th.

💰 Quora’s Poe Introduces an AI Chatbot Creator Economy

Quora’s AI chatbot platform, Poe, is now rewarding bot creators monetarily, making it one of the first programs of its kind.

Creators can earn in two ways: a share of the revenue if their bot leads to a Poe subscription or a per-message fee paid by Quora.

Poe was introduced in February, allowing users to interact with various AI chatbots. The content generated on Poe could potentially be distributed across Quora’s Q&A site, reaching its 400 million monthly visitors.

As of October, Poe has over 18.4 million installs and nearly 1.22 million monthly active users. However, it’s estimated to generate less than a quarter of a million dollars in in-app purchase revenue per month.

The creator monetization program is currently open only to U.S. users and offers up to $20 per user who subscribes to Poe via a creator’s bots.
