Teodor Grantcharov, a surgeon and professor at Stanford, developed technology to record and analyze surgeries to improve safety and efficiency.

It’s the operating room equivalent of an airplane’s black box: recording everything in the operating room via panoramic cameras, microphones, and anesthesia monitors before using artificial intelligence to help surgeons make sense of the data.

However, recording everything could raise the threat of disciplinary action and legal exposure. Some surgeons have refused to operate when the black boxes are in place, and some of the systems have even been sabotaged. Read more.

🏭 IKEA Is Hiring in Roblox

IKEA is seeking 10 real-life staff members to work in its Roblox virtual store opening on June 24, becoming the first brand to offer paid work on the gaming platform. Candidates must live in the U.K. or Ireland to apply and will be paid £13.15/hr, the same rate as regular real-life IKEA employees in London. Read more.

🚀 One Starship a Day

SpaceX's Starfactory started construction back in February. The upgrade gives Starbase an extra 100,000 square feet of the factory floor to help SpaceX reach its ambitious goal of producing one Starship a day.

SpaceX intends to start building Starship Version 2 at the new Starfactory. Starship Version 2 is said to hold more propellant, have improved reliability and a lower dry weight, and feature aerodynamic changes. There are currently over 1,800 full-time employees at Starbase. Read more.
