❄️ Ski Resorts Are Giving Up on Snow

❄️ Our Favorite Winter Sport Is in Danger of Becoming Extinct
The rising global temperature is turning the ski world upside down.
With natural snowfall becoming a rare sight, European ski resorts are having to rethink their game plan.
With the majority of European ski resorts at risk due to unreliable snow supply, even artificial snowmaking is unsustainable due to high water and energy consumption.
So, what’s the future for ski resorts?
Resorts like Fai della Paganella in Italy and Green Hill Bike Park in Germany are now focusing on activities like mountain biking during warmer months, some are even attracting more visitors in summer than in winter.
🎯 Multi-User Pointers Take Center Stage in Google Slides
Google Slides is introducing a feature that allows multiple users to use on-screen pointers on the same document at the same time.
There’s a GIF in the Google support doc that shows off this new feature in all its glory. It’s a hefty 50MB file, so it’s not something we can just casually drop into our newsletter. But it’s a sight to behold.
This new feature, highlighted in a Google support document, promises to bring a new level of collaboration (and potential chaos) to shared presentations.
The update was spotted by 9to5Google and has been well-received by users looking forward to more seamless collaboration in Google Slides.
⚔️ Elon Musk Floats the Idea of Charging for Access to X
In a recent live-streamed chat with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Musk dropped a bit of a bombshell: the platform X might not be free to use anymore.
According to Musk, they’re considering introducing a “small monthly payment” for using the system to deal with the problem of bots on the platform.
Musk explained that charging even a small fee could be an effective bot deterrent.
After all, creating a bot might cost less than a penny, but if each bot had to cough up a few dollars every month… that would make bot-making pretty expensive. Plus, every new bot would need a new payment method.
Musk didn’t say how much this new subscription might cost, only hinting that it would be a “small amount of money”.
