ChatGPT's oopsie moment - AI chatbot accidentally shares users' convo titles
Oh boy, it looks like ChatGPT had a bit of a hiccup recently. Some users were able to peek at the conversation titles of others. Whoopsie! It's like accidentally looking over your neighbour's shoulder while they're texting. Awkward much?
we had a significant issue in ChatGPT due to a bug in an open source library, for which a fix has now been released and we have just finished validating.
a small percentage of users were able to see the titles of other usersโ conversation history.
we feel awful about this.

But let's be real, who hasn't relied on ChatGPT a little too much lately? It's like our own personal genie, granting us knowledge and witty comebacks on demand. So, when the outage hit, it was like a collective groan echoed across the AI enthusiast community.
Don't worry though, OpenAI's CEO assured us that only a small percentage of users were affected. Phew! Crisis averted. But this is a good reminder to be careful when using AI tools that are still in development. You never know when a bug might pop up and expose your conversation titles to the world. So, keep your secrets to yourself, and don't spill the tea to ChatGPT.
Say Goodbye to Wallets: Panera Bread Now Accepting Palmprints as Payment
In a move that could give new meaning to the term "finger-lickin' good," Panera Bread is testing out Amazon's palm-scanning checkout service at two of its restaurants. Yes, you read that right โ you'll soon be able to pay for your lunch using only your palmprint! This is a groundbreaking development for the food industry, and a surefire way to ensure that your sandwich will never be stolen by someone with similar fingerprints.
According to Amazon Vice President Dilip Kumar, customers will be able to link their palmprint to their credit or debit cards, as well as to a Panera loyalty program. And if you're worried about the security of your personal information, don't be โ Amazon One has already been rolled out at numerous Amazon stores and Whole Foods locations, so they know what they're doing.
It's unclear if this technology will eventually replace traditional payment methods entirely, but one thing is for sure โ you'll never forget your wallet at home again. Panera plans to expand the service to more locations soon, so get ready to palm your way to a delicious meal!
The Rise of Open Source, Developer Tools, and Your Co-Worker's Gifs
Last week, Stan Rymkiewicz from Category Surfers looked at the Y Combinatorโs W23 batch. This week he is discussing S22, which happened almost a year ago - like who cares? But you do! So here's what went down.
The fastest-growing trend wasn't AI yawn but customer success. Sounds exciting right? In S22, only one company was building there (0.16% of all companies). A YEAR LATER that number shot up to 1.36% - that's a whopping 750% increase!
Now for the boring stats part: Crypto/Web3 is down; obviously - although I'm sure Elon Musk could give it some CPR anytime he wants. On the other hand, AI is up because it's trendy AF these days.
But wait for it...the real surprise winner categories were open source, developer tools and collaboration with growths of 99%, 90%, and 187%, respectively โ 'cause nothing says party time like sharing code with your colleagues on Zoom from your bedroom.
So what does this all mean? Brace yourself; remote work could remain king in the foreseeable future! Bet you never saw that coming?! Who needs water cooler gossip when you've got Slack channels filled with GIF after GIF ๐ง
