🚀 NASA's Plan to Slash Travel Time to Mars with Nuclear Propulsion
NASA just selected Lockheed Martin for the coolest gig ever!
They’ve been selected to design, build, and test a nuclear rocket in space.
The $499 million program, DRACO, aims to speed astronauts on a trip to Mars by half the time it currently takes.
Imagine a nuclear reactor that turns freezing hydrogen into a sizzling 4,400 degrees Fahrenheit! It's like a rocket-powered microwave, shooting out hot gas to propel us forward.
Better fuel efficiency means faster trips to Mars, so astronauts can spend less time in the void of deep space.
The DRACO project is gearing up for a flight test of their nuclear-thermal engine in late 2025 or early 2026.
🔋 Major Carmakers Commit $1 Billion for Charging Stations
A bunch of big automakers are teaming up and throwing in a cool $1 billion to build a tonne of electric vehicle chargers in the U.S.
They're tired of people not choosing their electric vehicles just because there aren't enough charging spots.
The companies, including BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis, aim to add around 30,000 fast chargers in urban and highway areas over several years.
The joint investment is modeled after Ionity, a charging company in Europe, funded by many automakers.
The automakers are converting many of their vehicle lineups to EVs in the coming years, and a lack of charging stations is a top concern for U.S. consumers.
In recent weeks, carmakers have also made deals with Tesla for partial access to its Supercharger network, providing more places for EV customers to power up.
🦉 The Secret to Winning Over Gen Zers
If you see a social post and think, “How did that get approved?” — that’s probably unhinged marketing.
It was popularized by Wendy on Twitter for roasting users and shading the competition. Unhinged marketing is extremely helpful for winning over Gen Zers who are all about ads that don't feel too salesy.
Duolingo who’s adopted this strategy in early 2021 and has now grown to more than 7m followers on TikTok.
In their videos, Duo is funny, and always does the unexpected! And if the app does come up, it's usually about the free version.
Duo’s also keeping the storylines consistent. It's like they're in on a running joke with their followers. A love-hate thing with Google Translate, a major crush on Dua Lipa, and a feud with Duolingo's legal team.
Duolingo is killing it with daily users up 62% from last year, and it's still one of the most popular education apps out there.
If you’re in need of effective marketing, a little personality can do wonders!
