Netflix Enters the Gaming Arena - The Future of Entertainment is Here (Almost)"
Netflix is ready to take on the gaming world with its own cloud gaming offering. The company aims to bring games to every device where Netflix is available. So, whether you're binge-watching your favourite show on a TV, laptop, or even a smart fridge, get ready to play games too.
Netflix's VP of External Games, Leanne Loombe, revealed that they're primarily focused on mobile gaming for now. They're still in the early stages of figuring out what kind of games their members want to play. But the good news is that they're committed to making games accessible on any screen.
While there's no official launch date for Netflix's cloud gaming, they've got big plans to keep us entertained in the meantime. Monument Valley and its sequel are set to come to Netflix in 2024 with all DLC included. They've got 40 games lined up for release this year, with 70 more in the works, including a rogue-lite game called Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace from Ubisoft. Plus, they're partnering with Super Evil Megacorp for an exclusive game.
So, get ready to game on with Netflix. And if you're not into gaming, don't worry, there are still plenty of TV shows and movies to keep you entertained.
From plastic waste to guilt-free takeout: Vytal has got you covered!
Get ready to ditch the guilt that comes with takeout! The world is facing an issue with plastic waste from food containers, cutlery, and bags, which makes
up over half of the world’s ocean litter. But don’t worry, German startup Vytal has a solution to make your takeout experience guilt-free.
They manufacture custom reusable containers leased to restaurants on a pay-per-use basis, reducing food packaging waste and combating climate change. With a range of packaging options like bowls, mugs, pizza boxes, trays, and sushi packaging, Vytal currently partners with over 3.5k restaurants across Germany and other countries.
Each container has a unique QR code to track customers and to allow Vytal to collect data for machine-learning algorithms to forecast individual restaurant needs. Plus, opting for Vytal's container is free for customers if it’s returned within 14 days (which has a 99.3% return rate). So next time you’re craving takeout, download Vytal’s app and enjoy your meal guilt-free!
Ship happens: LA's container crisis clears up, but the aftermath may be rough waters!
In a year, Los Angeles has gone from being drowned in shipping containers to having none, signalling an economy in decline, according to the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association. A year ago, a record 109 container ships were queuing to unload US imports at the twin ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, creating a bottleneck so long it would have stretched from the Baja Peninsula to Vancouver.
Today the backlog is gone, but the reasons why it took 2022 to clear are complex and include the pandemic recovery led by consumers and fully stocked warehouses to a slowdown marked by inflation and concerns about inventories. Additionally, port workers were hit by Covid-19 infections, and labour contracts were negotiated with shipping companies, creating uncertainty that diverted imports to the Gulf and East coasts.
