🎙️ The Voice Cloning App for Effortless Video Creation

Augie is a new app that allows users to clone their own voice or someone else’s to use in short videos.

The platform is aimed at marketers and social media teams, making it easy to add narration, photos, text, and music to videos without needing to learn audio and video editing.

Jeremy Toeman, the founder, says that the voice cloning feature was added because some people don’t like speaking into a microphone or recording voice-overs.

Users can write or upload a script to Augie and then use a prerecorded voice or choose one from its library. The tone of the voice can be adjusted depending on the mood of the video.

Augie went on public beta in May and for now, everyone using it has access to the voice cloning feature.

However, eventually, it might limit video length and quality and the number of cloned voices for non-paying subscribers due to the expense of running voice cloning servers with its partners.

💃 TikTok’s Strange Trend of Humans Playing Robots Spurs Hope for US Shopping

Imagine watching a woman in a wig bounce like a robot in front of a pink bedroom while thanking you for sending her virtual hot dogs and corn.

That’s Crystal Alana Bennett, cashing in on the latest livestream craze, where thousands of viewers are hooked on watching people pretending to be NPCs (non-playable characters).

Bennett earns around $700 an hour from these gifts, and she’s not the only one.

Another NPC-style performer Jon Moss made $10,000 by being a rude NPC who insults people.

TikTok is loving these live videos. They’ve been trying to use live videos to sell stuff to its users, something that it does very well in Asia. But it’s not easy to convince Americans to buy things from live videos.

By creating communities around different interests and niches, TikTok hopes to make shopping more personal and engaging.
