đŻ Israel Utilizes AI for Air Strike Target Selection
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have recently integrated AI into their operations, using it to select targets for air strikes and manage wartime logistics.
These AI tools, named Fire Factory and the AI recommendation system, enable the rapid assembly of air raids. However, the technology lacks international or state-level regulation, which raises concerns among critics.
Critics raise concerns about the secrecy surrounding AI development and the potential for AI to become fully autonomous.
Some experts argue that AI integration in battlefield systems may help reduce civilian casualties by enhancing precision and efficiency.
The IDFâs integration of AI into its military operations marks a significant development in modern warfare. While proponents highlight its potential benefits, critics emphasize the need for transparency and human oversight to ensure the responsible use of AI in military contexts.
Letâs hope they keep things under control.
đŁď¸ Glassdoor Introduces Anonymity-Enabled "Communities" for Open and Honest Industry Conversations
Glassdoor wants to be more than a website where you can find out how much people get paid and what they think of their employers.
It wants to be a place where you can chat with other people who share your interests, roles, and industries. And it wants to let you do it anonymously.
Thatâs why Glassdoor has launched a new feature called communities, where you can join different bowls (thatâs what they call them) and post whatever you want without revealing your identity.
You can also join company-specific bowls, where you can talk to your co-workers and bosses without them knowing who you are.
They got this idea from Fishbowl, another app that they bought last year. Fishbowl had over 10,000 interest bowls and 30,000 company bowls, and now they are all on Glassdoor.
Hopefully, this will attract more users to its platform, which has been stuck at 55 million for a while.
âł Instagram Threads Forced to Implement Rate Limits Amidst Rising Spam Attacks
It seems like Twitter isnât the only one having to rate limits its user.
In a hilarious turn of events, Twitterâs latest rival, Instagram Threads which now has one-fifth of the weekly active user base of Twitter, announced that it too has to tighten up on rate limits due to spam attacks.
Elon Musk, Twitterâs owner, couldnât help but laugh and reply to a screenshot of the announcement posted on Twitter with âLmaooo Copy đ [cat].â
As you may recall, Twitter had to enforce new limits on how many tweets users could read due to âextreme levels of data scrapingâ and âsystem manipulation.â After some backlash from users, Musk increased the limits and even said he would increase the rate limit again for Verified users by 50%.
Now it seems even Metaâs new app isnât immune to the problem of bots and spam. Instagram head Adam Mosseri explained that spam attacks have picked up and theyâre going to have to get tighter on things like rate limits.
Without getting bots and spam under control, Threads will be in the same boat as Twitter.
