This implies that the AI-powered automatic code-writing tool by Microsoft has a monthly revenue of over $8.3 million.
GitHub charges $10 per month for individual use and $20 per seat per month for enterprises.
Rodriguez also stated that GitHub Copilot is profitable, countering a report claiming the service was losing $20 per user per month.
Launched in 2022, GitHub Copilot is among the first products powered by OpenAI offered by Microsoft, which has invested over $10 billion in OpenAI.
🙅♂️ This Startup Promised Not to Make Deepfakes Without Consent But Did Anyway
UK startup Yepic AI, which claims to use “deepfakes for good”, has been found creating deepfaked videos of a reporter without consent.
The company used a publicly available photo of the reporter to create the videos, despite its policy against creating custom avatars without express permission.
CEO Aaron Jones stated that the company is updating its ethics policy and that the videos and images used have been deleted.
Deepfakes, created by generative AI systems, have been used for scams and non-consensual porn, highlighting the need for ethical guidelines in their use.
