People have found a new side hustle: renting out SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet dishes on Facebook Marketplace.
The service is popular among vacationers and remote workers.
One Facebook user is reportedly making about $5,000 a month by renting out seven of the devices.
At $30 per day, a Starlink owner could break even on the monthly fee by renting it out for at least four days a month and recoup their equipment costs in one month if they rented it out for about 24 days.
It’s like the AirBnB of mobile internet!

Yes, you heard that right. For the first time in its history, Uber has reported an operating profit of $326m after people booked 22% more trips on its platform in the last year.
That’s a huge improvement from the previous year’s operating loss of $713m.
Uber’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, attributed the success to “robust demand, new growth initiatives, and continued cost discipline.”
Drivers and couriers also got a piece of the pie, earning a record $15.1bn during the quarter.
But does this make up for the $25bn in funding Uber received from venture investors? Well, that’s another story.
